LICENCED, TRAINED, and READY to respond
turn your passion into impact
ORRCA Rescue Training Workshops provide the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to safely respond to marine mammal emergencies along Australia’s coastline. Combining classroom-based learning with hands-on beach training, these workshops are designed for passionate individuals wanting to become part of ORRCA’s frontline rescue network.
As the only licensed volunteer marine mammal rescue organisation authorised to undertake marine mammal rescue operations in New South Wales, ORRCA operates under an annual authority issued by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
Participants learn from experienced trainers, gain confidence responding to marine mammal incidents, and develop the skills needed to support rescue, welfare and public education outcomes.
To participate, individuals must be current ORRCA members and over 18 years of age. Only Rescue Trained Members are permitted to attend rescue incidents. Workshops are often in high demand and places may be limited.
