The Annual ORRCA Whale Census Day is a wonderful opportunity to meet other marine mammal enthusiasts. Participate in the vital recording and tracking of whale migration along the eastern coast of Australia. We record sightings from all over Australia. This year the Whale Census Day will be held on Sunday 29th June 2008. Register now by email orrca@orrca.org.au or by phoning the ORRCA Hotline on (02) 9415 3333.
In 2005, 2006 & 2007 we had a record number of sightings with favorable ocean currents and weather conditions. With your help we hope to beat that record in 2008.
If you would like to help us and can attend no matter how little time you can spare, then please contact your Pod leaders or the ORRCA Hotline. ORRCA researchers are keen to hear about your whale, dolphin, seal and dugong sightings.  Contact us with your sightings.

Here are the venues that ORRCA users for the annual Whale Census Day. | 1. | Jervis Bay: The Cape St George Lighthouse (aka Ruined Lighthouse) in Booderee National Park. Well signposted. Car park.
| | 2. | Stanwell Tops: Northern end of car park.
| | 3. | Bondi-Tamarama: Mackenzie Point down from Marks Park. The nearest streets are Kenneth Street and Marks Lane.
| | 4. | North Head: Take Darley Road through Manly up the hill towards Manly Hospital. Just past the Hospital (on your right) go through the stone archway. This road is called North Head Scenic Drive. Continue past the army barracks (on your left), past the Quarantine Station (on your right) until you reach the car park at North Head. Walk down the Fairfax Walking Track to the tip of the headland. Please note, you are not going as far as Fairfax Lookout which is further inland.
| | 5. | Bilgola Headland: The car park off The Serpentine on the headland north of Bilgola Beach.
| | 6. | Barrenjoey Lighthouse: Top of Barrenjoey via Palm Beach.
| | 7. | Copacabana: Capt. Cook Memorial Park off Del Monte Place.
| | 8. | Norah Head Lighthouse: The lighthouse is off Bungary Road.
| | 9. | Anna Bay: Fishermans Point.
| | 10. | Newcastle: Streslecki Lookout.
| | 11. | Port Macquarie: Tacking Point Lighthouse.
